1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

• Account information: email address, display name, and password when you create an account.
• Company information: company name, phone, email, address, website, and license number (Business plan users who set up a company profile).
• Client information: names, phone numbers, email addresses, and addresses of your clients that you voluntarily save in the client database.
• Project data: project names, descriptions, addresses, and calculation results that you save.

b) Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
• Usage data: features used, calculators accessed, and general app interaction patterns.
• Crash reports: technical data about app crashes to help us improve stability.
• Firebase Analytics: anonymous usage statistics (can be opted out in device settings).

c) Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT collect your location data.
• We do NOT access your contacts, photos, or files.
• We do NOT record your keystrokes outside the App.
• We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the App
• Process your subscription payments
• Sync your projects and calculations across devices
• Send you important service notifications (e.g., payment confirmations, feature updates)
• Improve the App based on usage patterns
• Provide customer support
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

3. Data Storage & Security

Your calculation data and projects are stored locally on your device using encrypted SQLite databases. If you create an account, your data may also be stored on our cloud servers for sync purposes.

We use industry-standard security measures including:

• HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
• Firebase Authentication for secure login
• Encrypted database storage on our servers
• Regular security audits

Client information you save in the Business plan client database is stored locally on your device only and is NOT transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly use cloud sync.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, analytics, and crash reporting. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat: Subscription management for iOS and Android. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe: Payment processing for web subscriptions. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Material pricing APIs: We may fetch publicly available pricing data from retailers. We do not share your information with retailers.

These services may collect data as described in their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

5. Push Notifications

With your permission, we may send push notifications for:

• Price alerts: Significant price changes for materials you've used.
• Feature updates: New calculators or app improvements.
• Subscription reminders: Upcoming renewals or payment issues.

You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App.

6. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With your consent: When you explicitly agree to share data.
• Service providers: With trusted third-party services that help us operate the App (listed in Section 4).
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government regulation.
• Business transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you).

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data: View all personal data we hold about you.
• Export your data: Download your projects and calculations.
• Delete your data: Request complete deletion of your account and associated data.
• Correct your data: Update inaccurate personal information.
• Opt out: Disable analytics and marketing notifications.

8. Children's Privacy

BuildCalc Pro is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records for tax purposes).

10. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

11. International Users

BuildCalc Pro is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

12. Marketplace Profiles and Contractor Data

When contractors create a marketplace profile, their business information (name, contact, services, photos, location) is made publicly visible to other users. Contractor reviews and ratings are also public.

BuildCalc Pro does not independently verify contractor-provided information including licenses, insurance, or certifications. Users are responsible for verifying these credentials directly with contractors and relevant authorities.

Private client reviews (contractor-to-homeowner) are only visible to Pro and Business tier contractors and are not publicly displayed.
